Papers are solicited for presentation in a symposium focusing on the application of system identification and reduced order modeling techniques to mechanical systems.

Reduced-order modeling and system identification are invaluable tools to gain insight into low-order dynamical behavior of large-scale systems (e.g. normal modes, averaging). Moreover there exist a number of circumstances in which reduced-order models must be developed and identified to describe the dynamics of components within larger simulation models (e.g. structural damping due to joints). Papers are solicited in which reduced order modeling and system identification methods, both analytical, numerical, and experimental, are applied to mechanical systems. Papers in which the reduction and identification methods are used to elucidate the response of the underlying large-scale system are particularly welcome.
